Halloween

This year was a great Halloween!! We had a wonderful ward party, the children had so much fun at their school activities and we had a wonderful Halloween night with our family and with our neighborhood.

It began with me deciding this year to make our costumes (all the girls). There is a talented lady in our neighborhood names Ashalon. She has a business where she makes bows and tutu's. For our enrichment day she helped up make tutu's at a wonderful price. Because I had so many to make, she allowed me to come over to her house numerous times to make our lovely costumes. Thanks Ashalon. It was a lot of fun making them and we all loved wearing our costumes this year!!

We had a baby Fairy Princess, Audrey

An orange and black Witch, Avery

A beautiful blue Fairy Princess, Sydney

A georgeous Snow White (black hair too), Kennady

And I decided to make a witch with my friend Stacey. So this year I was more than just a mom for Halloween. Kennady was so excited because she said this was the first Halloween I dressed up too!!

So we were all in tutu's. It was really fun!!

Our Halloween fun began on Wed. night because our ward had a Halloween carnival. Joe's brother Parris and his wife Shannon are the activities chair people. They did such a wonderful job. Joe was out of town so I was lucky enough to have my mom to help me that night. As we were getting ready Sydney noticed that there were 2 witches, 2 fairy princesses, and 2 snow whites. I guess we think alike!!

This picture does not do the decorations justice but you can get a small idea of how wonderful the decorations were. It was amazing in the gym.

We ate cupcakes and saw all the cute costumes then we headed around the church to play carnival games. Since I didn't have Joe with me that night, it was impossible to take pictures but the kids had so much fun. They loved all the games. There was fishing pond, a haunted house that we had to leave in the middle of because we were all so scared, making necklaces, popping balloons, throwing balls, and many more!! Thanks Parris and Shannon for a fun night!!

Then Halloween came and we were all up and ready by 8:30am to be at the girl's school for the costume parade. It was really fun to see Kennady and Sydney and all of their friends too!! I love costume parades because the children are so cute all dressed up.

My friends, Stacey and Wendy and I all stayed and helped with the Kindergarten party.

We were in charge of the frame making activity. The kids got their picutre taken and then they made a cute Halloween frame to go with their picture.

There was also cookie decoratiing,

Pumkin decorating,

a spider making activity,

and many other games. It was really fun and Sydney loved it. It was so fun to help out and watch her with her friends.

Here is her Principal in the Red Hawk costume and her Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Brown (girl scout).

We then got ready for Halloween night!!! It was so much fun. Joe came home early and they all went outside to take silly pictures and to have some fun outside with dad.

(notice the baby on the roof?)

Our family then came over for dinner. We had homemade soup and chilli in bread bowls, with fruit, chips, treats, and of course candy. Some came a little bit later because of work and traffic so I didn't get a picture of everyone but this is who came....
Grandma Denise, Parris, Shannon, and Collyn, Jason, Katie, and Reddek, Julie, Brandon, Katie's sister Rachel, her husband Robby and their little girl Jadelyn. It great having them all come.
I love all the cousins together!!

After we ate we headed out for some trick-or-treating. It was great this year because most of the kids were old enough to understand what was going on. Go up to a house, say trick-or-treat, stick out your bag, and get some candy. It was fun!! We got a little wet but overall the weather was warm. We even went to the neighborhood haunted house. All of my girls, except, Audrey who was asleep in the stroller, went in. I can't believe they did it!! They were scared and they did scream but man it was good!! We then went back home and got all the kids little ones in the tub. I took some cute pictures but I will keep these off the internet!!

Kennady and Sydney also enjoyed answering the door. Sydney just had to keep Collyn away from all the candy while she waited for the next group of kids.

The kids then crashed on the couch while Jason and Katie stayed late to watch T.V. and talk until midnight!! What a fun day and night. I love spending time like this with my family. We definitely made some memories!!!
Halloween 2008 was great!!!

I am so glad you dressed up this yr. It was a lot of fun having us all dress and trick or treating around the neighborhood. We need to start doing this every year for Halloween, it's a new tradition.
