The Fourth of July

4TH OF JULY 2008

I have to begin this post by saying that the Fourth of July is my second favorite holiday. I love it!! I love hanging out with family and seeing old friends. I love the cute colors and the 4th of July clothes that my girls wear. I love fireworks. I love being patriotic. I love everything! So this is a long post full of pictures.

We stared the morning by heading to Manti. Joe's sister Kori had invited us to go to her house for a 4th of July BBQ and campout.

We first headed to the Manti park. It is the town celebration so it is full of old friends and activities. The girls got their faces painted and watched as their uncle was dunked in a dunking booth. The girls searched through straw to find money and had an egg toss contest. Kennady and Joe were partners in the egg toss and Kennady got egg all over her!! We were also able to catch up with many old friends. It was a lot of fun.

I think the girls always love to get their faces painted. It is something they look forward too!
At the park we did get hot and tired. Here is a picture of the girls just hanging out!!!
They love their cousins!! This is Jessica and Jamie.

It was also nice to have so much family around to help with Audrey. She got a little hot so I had to head back to Kori's house a little early but overall she did great!

After all the fun in the park we went back to Kori's house for a yummy BBQ. Kenny cooked us up some hamburgers and hotdogs and his mom brought over tacos. There was so much food.
Thanks Kenny and Kori for the dinner.

As tradition would have it, following the BBQ someone always begins the water fight. The kids all spend the afternoon making water ballons, the little kids all play in the pool with the water balloons, then everyone gets in on the water fight. This year Katie and Kennady started the water fight. They hit Uncle Chad first. He then put Katie and Kennady into the pool of water!! I thought for sure Kennady would come out of the pool with tears but instead she was laughing and having a great time. I could not believe how fun the water fight was. Avery and Reddek were a little confused and scared at first. I was lucky enough to have a baby this year!! That made me off limits YEAH!!! It was really fun and a great way to cool off.

Everyone getting balloons.

Joe making his plans and attacking.
Kennady was really into the water fight this year. She is getting Jessica wet!!
Sydney stopping for a wave as she runs by to get more water.
And Katie the one who stared it all!! And who is a kid at heart! And Kyle too!!

And this is Avery, Audrey and me in the safe zone. We had fun watching (well I did). Avery was still very confused and very scared for her dad and her guys (a.k.a Kennady and Sydney).

When the girls got tired and very wet they decided to try and get warm by sitting on our 4-Wheeler. It worked until Uncle Chad dumped a huge bucket of water on top of them.

This is a video of the little ones and the water fun they had. Avery would toss a huge balloon into the pool and then Reddek would laugh and laugh. They were both soaked but having a blast!!

After the BBQ and water fight it was time for fireworks. Joe bought a huge box from Costco. The girls thought he was the greatest Dad!!

We had Kori and Kenny and their family, Kenny's mom and step-dad and brother, Katie, Jason and Reddek, Tammy, Chad, Kyle and Amber, Jesse, and Kayson all there. It was a fun day and the fireworks were fun too.

Kennady even got to light a few.

And Avery enjoyed the sparklers.

Avery and Audrey were great with the fireworks. They really loved them. We also went and watched the big firework show. Avery thought it was amazing. It was the first time she had seen them.

We also spent the night in a tent in Kori's yard that night. It was great!! Audrey slept through the night. Sydney didn't even snore. It was nice and cool and we really enjoyed sleeping under the stars. I thought it was an amazing night and one that I will always remember.

WE LOVE THE 4TH OF JULY!!!!
